How much does it cost and how do I pay?

What are the subscription fees?

Subscription fees are £50 per term, per child, across all sections.  All Gift Aid donations on subscription fees are much appreciated and help to keep our subscriptions low.

Camps and some special activities cost extra but we will inform you about these in advance so that you can decide if they are for you.

We often also fundraise in addition to subscriptions.  All parents are expected to help with this fundraising.  On average our parents raise around £2,000 per year through our fundraising events.  Although this is hard work, it is extremely sociable, very rewarding and a great way to meet other families in the area.

How do we pay?

Subscriptions are payable at the start of each term via Online Scout Manager (OSM), on which you will have an account for your child.

We prefer online payment via OSM but any cheques must be made payable to 1st St Margarets Scout Group (NOT ‘istmar’) and handed promptly to your Leaders at the start of each term in an envelope marked ‘Sub’ with your child’s name and whether they are a Beaver, Cub or Scout.

What if we can’t afford the Sub, camp or trip?

We believe all children should have an equal opportunity to join and take part in all the camps and activities on offer.  If there is a problem, whether with the cost of subscriptions or concerning a particular activity or camp, a Hardship Fund is available.  Please ask your Section Leader in confidence about this.
