What camps do you organise?
1st St Margarets has a long and proud tradition of camping, regularly taking part in District Camps. The Scouts have enjoyed more adventurous, individually organised camps including hiking and other activities. Camps can also occasionally be in Youth Hostel accommodation.
Scouting regulations do not allow Beavers to go on camps or overnight stays away from home unless it is for one night and is indoors with approved facilities.
Whilst we encourage our members to get involved in camps, these are not compulsory.
What other trips and activities do you organise?
Each Section organises a range of other trips and activities. Over the years, these have included (depending on the age of the children): pantomime visits, ice skating, rifle shooting, climbing, flying, parascending, water sports weekends at Thames Young Mariners, Kip on a Ship (HMS Belfast), treasure hunts, visits to the local fire station, games in Bushy Park, 5 a side football tournaments, swimming, Day and Night Prowls, discos and much more!
Each Section also regularly organises for visitors to come in to speak to our members at weekly meetings about topics which count towards badge work.
